About
N.D. Zerman is the founder of ScriptBook — the first AI company to predict box office success from a screenplay alone — and DeepStory AI, a proprietary story generation platform she built before the GPT era.
Over seven years, she built her technology inside Hollywood: shuttling between studio backlots and venture capital boardrooms, navigating an industry that welcomes disruption only when it protects existing power.
Her work has been featured in CNN, The Times, Vogue, CNBC, Variety, The Guardian, and TechCrunch. She speaks at AI, film, and leadership events worldwide.
"In both Hollywood and venture capital, funding flows not to what works — but to who controls the narrative."
— from The Hollywood Chronicles of a Female Tech FounderBackground
With a background in Engineering & Applied Economics, N.D. Zerman set out to build what Hollywood had never seen: a machine that could read a script and predict its future — before the GPT era.
ScriptBook's patented technology — now registered in both the EU and US — has analysed thousands of scripts. DeepStory AI followed: a proprietary story generation platform built before the world knew what GPT was.
She lives in Belgium, where she devotes her time to building mindful AI for the betterment of humanity — and writing about the systems that make that necessary.
The Book
This is not a startup success story.
An unfiltered memoir about building ScriptBook AI over seven years inside an industry that sells dreams and punishes disruption. Hollywood doesn't fear technology — it fears exposure.
Shuttling between venture capital boardrooms and studio backlots, N.D. Zerman pulls back the curtain on two parallel ecosystems built on the same rules: backstabbing disguised as networking, exclusion justified as instinct, and a ruthless hierarchy that rewards loyalty over truth.
For a woman founder, the margin for survival is narrow: conform, diminish, or disappear. This is the story of a third path.

What it means to build AI responsibly in an era of hype, and why the ethics conversation in entertainment is a decade behind where it needs to be.
The unwritten rules governing who gets funded, who gets heard, who gets credited — and how to build a company that matters anyway.
Seven years of machine learning applied to human creativity — and what the data reveals about bias, taste, and the stories we choose to fund.
